Mexican companies import raw materials and agree on mutual work with Russian partners
Despite the collapse of the global economy, Mexican companies show that they are able to buy expensive resources and cooperate with international partners. The state-owned Pemex oil and gas corporation reported record gasoline deliveries from abroad, while Aeromexico signed a cooperation agreement with Russian “Aeroflot”.
Pemex increases import turnover
Premex from January 1 to 9, 2019 imported almost 765,000 barrels of fuel. This figure – a record in the history of the company. The President of Mexico, Andres Obrador, announced the news. Thus, he denied rumors that the problems with the supply of fuel to local states were caused by falling imports.
Mexico has been increasing gasoline imports since November 2018. Then the company received an average of 594,000 barrels a day. In December, the figure dropped slightly to 559,000. Such high volumes of purchases are caused by a lack of refining capacity in the country. For this reason, the state receives more than 70% of gasoline from other countries, in particular, the United States.
Mexico set the previous record for fuel imports 2 years ago. Then the number of delivered barrels was much lower – only 682,000.
Mexican company Aeromexico is a partner of Aeroflot.
Other news came from the air travel market. It is reported that Aeromexico, one of the co-founders of the international airline alliance Sky Team, will now work in cooperation with Aeroflot. The agreement provides for the general use of flights for transfers from Moscow to Mexico City.
Partner flights will pass through Europe. Representatives of Aeromexico said that customers from Mexico would be able to travel to Moscow through a number of European capitals, in particular, Madrid, Paris, London and Amsterdam. In these cities, the company conducts operations.
Since both Aeroflot and Aeromexico are members of the Sky Team, the signed agreement also means receiving frequent flyer bonuses and pleasant conditions for earning miles with which you can pay for tickets. In addition, customers of airlines will have access to the conditions of SkyPriority. This is the possibility of waiting for the flight in the VIP lounges, priority during check-in and flight and other services.
